The third wave is yet to hit the Telugu States as badly as it has hit Delhi and Mumbai (in terms of caseload). But the situation might get alarming in a few days or weeks even if the magnitude of cases is not as high as it is in severely-affected cities.
The buzz is that the Telugu film industry is staring at a shutdown for a few weeks at least. Film shootings will be cancelled when cases go up in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Already, the shooting of Vijay Deverakonda's 'Liger' has been suspended due to the situation in Mumbai. With Mahesh Babu down with mild symptoms, 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' team has taken a break.
One good thing is that the shooting of big movies such as 'RRR', 'Acharya', 'Radhe Shyam', and 'Bheemla Nayak' has been completed.
For now, the concern of the industry is the performance of the Sankranthi releases.
