June 4th marks Late SP Balasubramaniam's Jayanthi. The Cine Musicians Union, which comprises many singers and musicians as its members, hosted an event at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad to celebrate the legendary singer's legacy on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Rasamayi Balakishan said that he grew up listening to SPB's songs. "I also sang for the Telangana movement. Under the able leadership of KCR garu, about 550 jobs have been created for musical artists," he added.
Lyricist Chandrabose, who was one of the guests for the event, said, "My first song was rendered by SPB garu. A book on my lyrics has been penned and its foreword is my Balu garu. Balu garu may not be physically present with us but he is immortal."
RP Patnaik, who is the honorary president of the Union, said that he loves Balu as his life.
The event was also attended by singer Vijaya Lakshmi, Jaipal Raju (Vice President), Ramana Seelam (Treasurer), R Madhavi (Joint Secretary), EC member and singer Kausalya, music directors Vasanth and Raghu Kunche, and others.
