'Padi Padi Leche Manasu', 'Ranarangam', 'Jaanu', 'Sreekaram', 'Maha Samudram'. Five flops in less than three years. 'Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu' was the kind of genre Sharwa badly needed. 'Shatamanam Bhavati' was a family entertainer and it was a big hit. So, 'AMJ' could have helped Sharwa be back in the reckoning.
But the lukewarm box office response for the Kishore Tirumala directorial 'AMJ', which hit the cinemas this Friday, proves that Sharwanand may well be on his way to logging his 6th straight flop.
The actor is talented but the scripts are failing him. 'Jaanu' was a remake and it was expected to flop anyways. It was a tricky remake. 'Sreekaram' was invaded by 'Jathi Ratnalu' the way Russia is taking over the Ukranian cities. So, it stood no chance against the comedy film. 'Maha Samudram' was failed by poor content.
'AMJ', which co-stars Rashmika Mandanna, should have taken good openings. But it seems the family audiences are not keen on watching family entertainers as yet.
