'Kathalu (Meevi Maavi)' is the title of the OTT debut of filmmaker Vegesna Satish, who is known for the 2017 blockbuster 'Shatamanam Bhavathi'.
As the title suggests remotely, the web original is an anthology. A set of stories set in the backdrop of one or more villages will be told. The director, who has also made films like 'Entha Manchivadavura' and 'Srinivasa Kalyanam', is fond of telling small-town stories.
While it is not known how many stories the anthology is a pack of, the production works of three stories has already been completed. A source says that 'Kathalu' is going to be a clean family drama sans cheap scenes and vulgarity.
A set of talented technicians and artists are working on the project. It seems some of them are newcomers. More details of when and where the anthology will stream will be announced soon.
Vegesna is also doing 'Sri Sri Rajavaru', which marks the feature film debut of Jr NTR's brother-in-law Nithin Narne. 'Kothi Kommachi' is his immediate release and it features his son Sameer as the debut hero.
