When 'Paagal' flopped last year, Vishwak Sen was mocked by the media. Before the movie's release, he stated that he would change his name if the film doesn't do well.
After a bad year, the actor is back with a bang. 'Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam' may or may not become a noteworthy hit (the 'word of mouth' is positive but there is Mahesh Babu's 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' next week), but one thing is clear. Vishwak Sen is amassing praises from everyone for his neat performance in the film.
It is difficult to imagine the film without Sen. An actor can become a star hero when he saves his films. 'Ashoka Vanamlo..' has a sluggish and cliched second half. Yet, if people are saying it is an okayish entertainer, it is because of the 'Falaknuma Das' actor's performance.
He is now giving medium-range heroes a stiff competition and there are no two ways about it. There is no doubt that Sen will now be considered for family entertainers and not just actioners.
