'The Archies' (Hindi) is a Bollywood adaptation of The Archies comics. To be brought out by Netflix in 2023, the same went on the floors in April this year.

On Saturday, Netflix unveiled the film's teaser. The musical drama features Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan, Sridevi's daughter Khushi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda, among others, in lead roles.

The teaser puts the new actors in the shoes of known characters. None of them is looking like an Indian. Netizens are making fun of the actors and the OTT giant's decision to make 'The Archies' with a pronounced foreign flavour. "In which part of India and in which decade, did teenagers dress up like this?" asked columnist Pratyasha Rath. "For a network that produces Fauda and Angel, Netflix's India production can be only described as juvenile," tweeted Somanth Mukherjee.

Another user compared the nature of content Netflix is churing out with desi YouTube content and Amazon Prime's relatively more rooted originals. "Time when YouTube channels like TVF are coming with Kota Factory, Operation MBBS, etc, while Amazon Prime is bringing Panchayat and The Family Man, Netflix is yet again back with random unrelatable woke sh!t (sic)," wrote Wake Up Sid, a Twitter user.
