'FDFS': Overdose of Pawan Kalyan puts off the audience

'First Day First Show', which was released in theatres today, has been panned by social media users. Starring Srikanth Reddy as a young Pawan Kalyan fan, its story is set in the Summer of 2001, just two days before the arrival of the evergreen classic 'Kushi'.

An overdose of Power Star, Pawanism and exaggerated humour is putting off the audience. Writer Anudeep KV, who is known for writing and directing 'Jathi Ratnalu', fails to infuse intelligent comedy. The humour revolves around only one person and only one person, frustrating the mood and integrity of the story.

Nobody should expect a believable plot from a mindless entertainer. But with everything being made about the first day first show of 'Kushi', the film overdoes everything and quickly runs out of jokes. There is an attempt at creating dark humour around a dead old man (who, till moments before his death, itched to catch 'Kushi' at the earliest). But everything falls flat because of sub-par performances and over-the-top, slapstick comedy.
