There was a time when Chiranjeevi's movies used to attract unprecedented footfalls on the first weekend. So much so, the family audience would completely stay away from his movies until the queues at the ticket counters started to thin.

The release of 'Indra', in this regard, is special in the history of Telugu cinema. The craze for the movie was so enormous that crowds outside theatres playing the movie went berserk. They were ready to be lathi-charged by cops. The incomparable buzz actually worried the law and order machinery.

In an interview, producer C Aswini Dutt said that 'Indra' was matchless in terms of how the monumental craze started reflecting on the ground right from Day 1. "Right after the first day first show was over, the Vijayawada police commissioner telephoned Chiranjeevi garu and informed him that it would be difficult for the police department to control the over-zealous fans. He urged Chiranjeevi garu to issue a statement requesting his fans to cooperate with the police. Later on, several other commissioners also did it," Dutt, who is currently producing Prabhas' 'Kalki 2898 AD', said.
