The title-reveal glimpse of 'Kalki 2989 AD' was done at an event held in Hall H of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) in the US on July 20. The who's who of one of the finest and most expensive Indian films ever were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, director Nag Ashwin said that he loves science fiction and mythology. He also briefly touched upon the influence of the Hindu epic Mahabharata and the Star Wars franchise on his imaginative prowess. "Making a film that combines both these worlds felt ideal," the 'Mahanati' director said.

Amitabh Bachchan said that the film has been an unusual and exciting experience. "Incredible research has gone into the film," Big B said. Kamal Haasan said that 'Kalki 2989 AD' has a gigantic vision at its core. The 'Indian 2' actor has a negative role in this 2024 release.

The film's first glimpse has made the audience believe that 'Kalki' is going to be one of the most original Indian movies ever. SS Rajamouli, too, is excited about the film.
