'Satyabhama', starring Kajal Aggarwal in an aggressive role, is going to hit the cinemas soon. Debutant director Akhil Degala has wielded the megaphone. Its glimpse launch event was held in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, producer Srinivas Thakkalapelli of Aaram Arts said thanked chief guest Shekar Kammula for gracing the occasion. He revealed that he has resolved to produce gold-standard movies on his banner.

Presenter Shashi Kiran Tikka, who has previously directed 'Goodachari', said that the 'Fidaa' director was invited because 'Satyabhama' is a female-centric drama. "Director Akhil's previous work is impressive. We all agreed to hand over the responsibility of helming the project to him," he said, adding that Kajal was picked after the story was completed. She agreed to do the film after listening to the narration.

Director Akhil Degala thanked Kajal for being the "hero" of his maiden venture. He described Shashi Kiran Tikka as a guiding force. He suggested that his movie will do the talking.

Chief guest Shekhar Kammula lauded Kajal's filmography and choices by making a reference to her character Mitravinda in SS Rajamouli's 'Magadheera'. He subtly appreciated Kajal's enthusiasm to do movies even after marriage.

Kajal thanked the 'Love Story' director for gracing the event and making her birthday special. She described herself as a big fan of the filmmaker. The 'Sita' actress described the Telugu audience as the best. As far as she is concerned, doing a Telugu film after a gap is like a homecoming.
