The teaser for Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' was released on Thursday. "Home is where the heart smiles the most. And at the heart of this film are people on a journey of friendship, love and their dreams," wrote director Rajkumar Hirani, plugging the first teaser. "A rollercoaster journey of dreams, friendship, and hearts bound by a relationship called 'home'," tweeted the makers.
While the teaser has been lapped up without reservations by a large section of the Hindi audience, Prabhas' fans are confident that the genre of the film won't stand a chance against the "mighty" 'Salaar'. As is known, 'Dunki' and 'Salaar' are going to lock horns at the box office in the last week of December. The former will be released on December 21 (if not 22) and Prabhas' film is slated to be released on December 22. So, a clash between them is inevitable.
'Dunki' is no mega-budgeted extravaganza. It is a comedy-drama with a touching message about Indian migrants to other countries. Going by the teaser, SRK is at the centre of a loving family. Hirani's turf is well-known. The director's fans are reminding Prabhas' fans that he was under-estimated when 'PK', '3 Idiots' and 'Sanju' were made but the movies went on to rake in humongous monies.
On the other hand, Prabhas' fans argue that a big-scale action drama made by Prashanth Neel is intuitively far superior to any other genre in commercial terms. 'Salaar', they say, will bulldoze over 'Dunki' in the Hindi market, especially in B and C centres.
Let's wait and watch!
