On Saturday, the makers of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' announced that their film would be heading to the theatres on December 21. The previous release date was December 22.
In other words, 'Dunki' will be arriving at the cinemas a day before Prabhas' 'Salaar' (December 22nd release). This way, the makers have arrived at a win-win arrangement either with or without consultations with each other.
The SRK film has now opted for a Thursday release. With a clash avoided in Hindi and other belts, the audience can watch both movies on consecutive days. That way, the opening-day collections of the two tentpole movies won't stand affected in a prominent way.
'Dunki', directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is about a soldier's journey to keep a promise. 'Salaar', directed by Prashanth Neel, is an action drama involving two best friends, played by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
