Producer TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory today put out a statement against those who have raised a hue and cry over a recent interview of his. He made it clear that he was talking about the corrupt individuals who affected his banner and who have since been shunted out. He clarified that he was not making any general statement as such against the industry's worker unions.
"I was only saying that the quality of films was getting affected due to the corruption at my production house. It came to my attention that some individuals from the film industry, who feel that I was talking about them, distorted my comments and spread misinformation that I had insulted trade union members and workers. I said that due to the corruption of some people in the industry, my hard-working union workers were not receiving the wages meant for them. I was only talking about the internal affairs at my company," he added.
"If someone in my organization doesn't get paid, they approach us directly. If the workers' union receives a complaint, it is solved by working with the chamber or the council," Vishwa Prasad asserted.
"All those who are not involved in corruption can work proudly in my company. I could have taken legal action against the corrupt. But I desisted from doing so on humanitarian grounds, keeping the well-being of their family members in mind. More than three lakh labourers and their hard work is involved in the 30 films I have produced so far. I am not against unions. I am only against those who are robbing the hard work of cine workers and my money. I never succumb to any corrupt person. Honesty prevails.. And cinema is bigger than any individual," he added.
