It is known that Hanuma Vihari has resolved not to play for the Andhra Cricket Association after a politician from Rayalaseema got him removed from captaincy during the recent Ranji Trophy. The politician in question is a Corporator backed by the YSRCP. The incident has shocked many.

On Tuesday, Pawan Kalyan tweeted that Vihari has represented Team India in 16 Test Matches. He scored five half-centuries and a century and Vihari's heroics in the Sydney Test against Australia years ago were unforgettable. "As the Andhra Pradesh Ranji Team captain, he helped the Andhra Team to qualify for the knockouts five times in the last seven years. From playing with a fractured hand to an injured hamstring, Vihari always gave his everything for Bharath and Andhra Pradesh in the domestic circuit," wrote the actor-politician.

The Jana Sena chief added, "The Andhra Cricket Association forced Vihari to resign from the captaincy just because a YCP Corporator wanted it. A local YCP politician with no cricketing background is more valuable than an Indian cricketer and Andhra Pradesh Ranji Team Captain to our Andhra Cricket Association. What a shame," he added.

In the end, PK assured Vihari that a depoliticized cricket board is on the cards in AP soon.
