'Salaar' was released in theatres on December 22. The film will now stream on Netflix fom January 20. The streaming giant made the announcement on Friday morning. The 4-week gap between the theatrical release and OTT release has been honoured.
"Kaateramma koduku ippudu Netflix ki vacchesthunnadu. Ya ya ya YA! 'Salaar' is coming to Netflix on 20 January in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada (sic)," the platform wrote on Twitter.
Hombale Films recently hosted a party for Prabhas, director Prashanth Neel and others in Bengaluru. It was a sign that the banner has made very good profits from the pan-Indian movie.
'Salaar' couldn't realize its potential in the Hindi market due to severe competition from SRK's 'Dunki'. As per trade reports, 'Dunki' grossed more than double what 'Salaar' did in Hindi.
Co-starring Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Bobby Simha, Mime Gopi, Jagapathi Babu, and others, 'Salaar' has music by Ravi Basrur.
