In the coming two weeks, on two consecutive Fridays, two comedy entertainers are going to be released. Comedy is their broad genre, although the genres are different. 'Om Bheem Bush' (March 22nd release) is a quirky comedy with idiosyncratic characters played by three talented artists (Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna). 'Tillu Square' (March 29th release) is a comedy caper led by Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran.
In the teaser for 'OBB', there is a reference to male genital in an indirect way. The same has made many believe that director Sree Harsha Konuganti is trying an adult comedy suitable only for youngsters. The makers, in their promotions, are making sure to convey to the audience that 'OBB' is not an adult comedy but a clean comedy. They are trying to stress that one or two references in the teaser/trailer don't mean anything. Their context will be different in the film.
In 'Tillu Square', we can expect one or two steamy scenes between the lead pair. A few double-meaning lines can also be expected. In the latest presser, Siddhu clarified that he disagrees with the use of the term 'bold content' for his film. As far as he is concerned, whatever is there in the film is as per the requirement of the characters. Two youngsters in love, coming from urbane backgrounds, would of course indulge in steamy romance. But this element is limited. The film will be something else. This is what he tried to convey.
The makers of both films know well that marketing has to be done right so that there are no confusions. Family audiences are important to them.
