The other day, a young actor named Rakesh Varre said that no celebrity was ready to attend the pre-release event of 'Jithender Reddy' as a chief guest. Dil Raju today reacted to Varre's emotional speech.
"Nobody is going to support you here. If you have got the talent, you will get your due recognition. If your film attains success, we are going to give a pat on your back. Many of us have made it in this industry despite our humble backgrounds," Dil Raju said.
Rakesh Varre's 'Jithender Reddy' was released today in theatres. He has previously acted in the 'Baahubali' duology, besides producing the recent 'Peka Medalu'. He was the lead man in 'Evvarikee Cheppoddu', an underrated film that was meaningful and engaging throughout.
Dil Raju's frank words should open the eyes of newcomers who expect celebrity endorsements to no avail. Celebrities endorsing small movies barely makes any real-world difference. Their speeches/tweets fetch eyeballs on social media; thousands are going to come to know about the existence of your movie but it won't translate into admissions. None of the social media users is going to buy a ticket to watch your movie.
