Pawan Kalyan campaigned for some BJP candidates in the run-up to the recently-held Maharashtra Assembly elections. He spoke at public meetings held in several places in Maharashtra, demanding the protection of Sanatana Dharma and the victory of BJP alliance candidates. He actively participated in the campaign and tried to impress the Telugu voters there. Pawan Kalyan conducted election campaigns in Pune, Ballarpur, Solapur, Dethlur, and Latur.
So, how did the BJP alliance fare in the places where he campaigned? Extremely well. "Pawan had campaigned for NDA, particularly in the Marathwada region which was considered a tough area. NDA has swept the region," a political observer said.
Devendra Rajesh Kothe of the BJP is leading from the Solapur City Central constituency with more than 25,000 votes. He today mentioned Pawan Kalyan's name while speaking to the media.
The Maharashtra election witnessed a wave in favour of the BJP alliance. Even without Pawan Kalyan's campaign, these seats might have been won. The Jana Sena Party chief's contribution was in terms of adding to the Hindutva mood during the campaign.
