Allari Naresh's 'Bachhala Malli' is scheduled to be released in theatres on December 20. The drama will lock horns with two dubbed movies: Vijay Sethupathi's 'Vidudala 2', and Upendra's 'UI'.
Fortunately for Naresh, 'Vidudala 2' and 'UI' are not popular in Telugu. They are big projects in Tamil and Kannada, respectively, but their Telugu market is on a sticky wicket. If 'Bachhala Malli' manages to generate positive word of mouth, it can tide over the competition.
'Bachhala Malli' seems to be an emotional character-based drama with mass elements. On the other hand, 'Vidudala 2', directed by Vetrimaaran, has a bigger range in terms of the themes and scale. 'UI' is a surrealistic action comedy drama. While Vijay Sethupathi at least stands a chance to threaten Allari Naresh, Upendra doesn't. Most of this recent dubbed releases in Telugu, like 'Kabzaa', have gone unnoticed.
