Devara's Success Boosts 'Kanguva' Prospects

The stupendous run of 'Devara' at the box office indicates that the audience are in a kind mood towards films set in unique worlds. They don't mind mixed 'word of mouth' if the film belongs to an exciting genre.

If there were any doubts that Suriya's 'Kanguva' might do well only in Tamil and Telugu but not in Hindi, the 'Devara' experience amply removes the doubt. The Suriya-starrer, set to be released in theatres on November 14, is going to do extremely well in all three languages - at the very least, in the first weekend. If the 'word of mouth' is positive, 'Kanguva' could do better than 'Pushpa: The Rise' in the Hindi market in its lifetime run.

The International Trailer of 'Kanguva', to be released in October or in the first week of November, will only help things further. 'Kanguva', also starring Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, has music by Devi Sri Prasad.

'Devara' and 'Kanguva' have certain commonalities. They both are violent movies and celebrate gore. They both have sequels. They both have cliffhanger-type climaxes.
