'Matka' is the title of Varun Tej's 14th movie. The news is that the film will hit the cinemas on November 14, probably in Hindi as well. Directed by Karuna Kumar of 'Palasa 1978' fame, the film will clash with a pan-Indian movie.
Producers Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala of Vyra Entertainments have decided to clash 'Matka' with Suriya's 'Kanguva'.
To be frank, 'Matka' won't enjoy any craze. On the other hand, 'Kanguva' is a crazy project in Telugu.
After back-to-back disasters like 'Gandevadhaari Arjuna' and 'Operation Valentine', Varun Tej badly needs to pull off a box-office hit. But a direct clash with 'Kanguva' puts the fate of 'Matka' in disarray. 'Matka' will stand a chance against 'Kanguva' only if the content is great.
In terms of opening weekend collections, 'Kanguva' will steal a march over 'Matka'. 'Matka' will be a damp squib unless some miracle takes place.
