The glimpse of JETLEE has a tonal inconsistency. While a brief convo between Satya and Vennela Kishore takes the form of a parody (with Satya describing himself as a "General Compartment" hero separate from the Tier-1, Tier-2, or Tier-3 heroes of Tollywood), a stunt performed by the cartoonish "hero" hints at seriousness. Director Ritesh Rana confirmed that the film's subject is serious-minded, although the genre blends action with quirky comedy.
"This is a story-driven movie. I first had a space-based thriller in mind. I reworked the idea and turned it into an action-comedy. The stakes remain high, the drama is there, the suspense factor remains intact," Ritesh Rana said.
JETLEE is eyeing an April or May 2026 release. "JETLEE is a standalone movie and is not part of the Mathu Vadalara franchise," the director shared. About 60% of the shoot is completed. Produced by Clap Entertainment and presented by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has Rhea Singha in a key role. Kaala Bhairava is the music director. Satya, donning an excessive hairdo, has allotted bulk dates for the movie.
