Young and energetic hero Nara Rohith and Priya Banerjee starrer ‘Asura’ was made on Devas Media and Entertainment, Kushal Cinema and Aaran Media Works banners with Nara Rohith as presenter. Krishna Vijay is the director, while Shyam Devabhakthuni and Krishna Vijay are the produces. The film has completed the censor process and is all set hit screens worldwide on June 5. On the eve of film’s release, Nara Rohith had a chat with the media about the film. So enjoy this young and energetic hero’s interview…
Tell us about the film ‘Asura’?
‘Asura’ is an action thriller. I played Dharma, a Jailer role. When compared to all films which I’ve done earlier, this film has many commercial elements. Concept will be very different.
Would you like to sum up your character and the meaning of the title in couple of words?
I’m a work monster in the film. In ancient days, people used to treat the one who kills monsters as god. I too doing the same. You will find the dialogue in the film and ‘Good is Bad’ is the caption. Therefore we have chosen the title as ‘Asura’. The story of the film revolves around a Jailer who never accepts the persons who avoids work.
You have done the police officer role in ‘Rowdy Fellow’ and ‘Asura’. What are the variations between two?
Though I did a police officer role in ‘Rowdy Fellow’, there is lot of difference between that film and ‘Asura’. Script and screenplay is totally different. That made me to accept the role. You will find lot of difference in terms of looks and characterization. I tried different hairstyle for rustic look. Skin tone also downed two types.
How did you get the idea to produce the film?
‘Asura’ is coming as the first film from our banner. I would have become producer, if not acting. I’ve been wanting to produce a film since long time.
How was the working experience as a producer?
I’ve some idea on production department. But, ‘Asura’ has three producers…Shyam Devabhakthuni and Krishna Vijay along with me. My involvement was only at pre-production works. Remaining all responsibilities were taken by those two producers. I’ve not done much hard work.
Will you do films with star directors?
There is nothing like that. I'll certainly work with star directors who come out with good stories and if they feel that I’m apt for it.
What precautions did you take regarding ‘Asura’?
All films which I’ve done earlier were received well by the audience, but were not big commercial blockbusters. The problem is on release dates or promotions, whatever the reason is. Therefore I’ve taken due care regarding ‘Asura’. We have made the film with all commercial elements and taken special care in promotions.
Can we expect love story films from you?
My next project ‘Pandagala Vacchadu’ is a love story with complete family entertainer. It will be with Godavari accent. Another project ‘Savithri’ with Pawan Sadhineni will hit floors in August. It’s also a pure love story. ‘Pandagala Vacchadu’ is supposed to be released after ‘Rowdy Fellow’. But, ‘Asura’ is coming first. So, people are thinking that I’ll do only serious films.
Can you tell our readers about your working experience with director Krishna Vijay?
I’ve good relationship with director Krishna Vijay since 5 years. We have started a film ‘Madrasi’ under his direction. But, due to some unexpected reasons we were unable to complete the film. Finally, he narrated me ‘Asura’ script and I was impressed and started the film. He is a very comfortable director.
Tell us about your working experience with your co-star Priya Banerjee?
Priya Banerjee has acted in ‘Joru’ in the past. She is a very good hard worker and excellent co-star. Working with her is a wonderful experience for me.
Of late, young heroes are appearing in six-pack. What is your opinion on that?
During the time of ‘Rowdy fellow’, 30% shooting of ‘Asura’ is already completed. So, I continued with the same physique. I’ve plans to appear in six-pack in my next films.
Did your uncle watch your films? What was his feeling?
Except ‘Prathindhi’ and ‘Rowdy Fellow’, he watched all my films. He suggested me to do commercial films which can be watched by the whole family.
What are your upcoming projects?
Only 3 days works was left for the film ‘Pangala Vacchadu’. ‘Naladamayanthi’ was also remained with just 10 to 15 days shooting work. ‘Savithri’ will go on floors in August. Pre-production works are in progress for ‘Appatlo Okadundevadu’. Sri Vishnu and I are working for this film. The story of the film is based on the incidents that took place in old city in 90s.
Can we ask about your marriage?
My marriage will be after my elder brother’s marriage. You will know the details in the next year.
