Actress Akshatha Srinivas awaits the release of 'MMOF' on February 26. Starring also JD Chakravarthy, Kirak RP, Chammak Chandra, Sreeram Chandra and Sampoornesh Babu, the film is directed by Yen. S. See.

I was brought up in Mangalore. My father is a banker and my mother is a homemaker. I got into modelling during my college days. I had confessed to a friend that I want to get into films. Since she has a relative who is in Kollywood, she referred me and I got to act in a Tamil movie.

I am not a trained actor. Thankfully, even though I don't know Tamil, the director's support helped me pull off my first Tamil movie. In Telugu, I have done 'Sekharam Gaari Abbayi'. Besides trying my hand at direction, I also acted in the movie. Mohan Babu garu encouraged me, among others. I later did a female-centric film in Kannada. The film is close to my heart. I have also done a film in Kananda opposite Chiranjeevi Sarja.

I am positive about 'MMOF'. I am happy to have acted with the multi-talented JD Chakravarthy. His guidance helped me a great deal. He is a perfectionist. The poster design itself is quite thoughtful.

Coming to producers Rajasekhar sir and Khazim sir, they persisted throughout the pandemic. They are ensuring publicity is intact. They could have gone in for a direct OTT release, but they didn't.

This is a clean subject. The horror-crime has got a theatre background. Which is why it's unique. There was a time when theatre owners were highly respected. With changing times, the exhibition sector has lost some sheen. 'MMOF' is about how five individuals work to sustain its image.

'MMOF' is a screenplay-based, tight film. Dialogues are not too many. You have to follow the actors' expressions to understand the scenes.

I will be seen in 'Question Mark', which is headlined by Adah Sharma, among others. Its shoot was completed recently and the film is in the post-production phase. I am also doing 'Gandharva' with Sandeep Madhav. I am playing the second female lead in it. Veera Shankar of 'Gudumba Shankar' fame is its director. I will have scenes in the combination of Sai Kumar sir, too. It's a very good subject. Time-travel is the concept of the film.

I am doing a web series for Netflix. My look will be very different in it. It's an emotional film that is poetic. I am getting very good offers these days. Besides appreciation, I am getting so much support here. I feel fortunate enough about all this.
