'Agent' provided me with a huge platform: Sakshi Vaidya

Sakshi Vaidya is debuting at the BO this Friday (April 28) with 'Agent', wherein she plays a pilot. "For a beginner, 'Agent' provided me with a giant platform. I have got a few pivotal scenes. It's just the beginning for me on my career front. This film gave me the best sort of exposure," says the newcomer. The youngster has previously done a few commercials before bagging her first feature-length movie. She won't be seen in action scenes in 'Agent' but she is happy that her character becomes a trigger for some scenes involving Akhil Akkineni's character. Brought up in Mumbai and partly educated in Pune, Sakshi comes from a physiotherapy background.

While 'Agent' is a complete action thriller, no film is free from a love track. I am playing the hero's love interest. My character is part of an important plot point. When the offer came my way, I was doing nothing. I was just out of my college. I started doing Insta stories, making videos and doing photography because I had nothing else to do. I also started giving auditions for a few films and got rejected for many. Some of them accepted me but the stories were not satisfying.

When 'Agent' came my way for the first time, I mistook it for a scam. The casting director told me it's a big production house and that the director was looking for someone like me. I had a look test and an audition.

I play a pilot by profession. She doesn't believe in love. She breaks up with the hero for a reason. Action flows from their track. My character will be speaking in the Rayalaseema accent. People advise me to keep watching Telugu movies to get a grip on the language.

Akhil is a great individual. I come from a non-film background and he is the exact opposite. He was warm, very welcoming and much like his father. There is a lot more to learn from him.

I feel overwhelmed with the love that I am receiving here. The people here are so welcoming even before they have watched my performance. I have to keep doing better. I have to raise the bar after 'Agent'.

It was difficult to dance with Akhil. But since I know Bharatnatyam, it was not so very challenging. I know I haven't danced as well as Akhil but I gave my best shot.

Director Surender Reddy's dedication levels are insane. After he was bedridden during the pandemic and was discharged, he was expected to take rest. But he didn't.

My life has always been a big surprise to me. I have always made the right choices. I didn't have an acting dream. I started giving auditions randomly. Acting as a profession really changes you as a person. You go through so many emotions while performing a character. I am a quick learner. I am not a very social person, though.

I got to meet with producer Anil Sunkara garu only once. His team was always there on set to take care of us. 'Agent' will give you a massive theatrical experience. It will be an awesome cinematic experience.
