'Nenu Student Sir!' is all set to hit the cinemas on June 2. Rakhi Uppalapati has wielded the megaphone for the thriller. Starring Bellamkonda Ganesh and Avantika Dassani as the lead pair, the film is a thriller. In this interview, the debutant filmmaker talks about the nature of the story, what to expect from it, his background, and more.

I hail from M. Nagulapalli village near Bhimadole in West Godavari district. We had to migrate to Tapipaka for the sake of my father's business venture. Incidentally, the place is near to where director Sukumar garu used to live. After my graduation, I worked on 'Chukkalanti Ammayi Chakkanaina Abbai'. I travelled with director Teja garu after a co-director introduced me to him. In fact, I worked on the script of 'Ahimsa' as well.

Coming to 'Nenu Student Sir!', it is Krishna Chaitanya who wrote its story. It was Bellamkonda Srinivas to whom I narrated a story. Producer Satish Varma and Bellamkonda Suresh liked the story very much. I was asked to narrate the story to Bellamkonda Ganesh. By then, they also zeroed in on a story written by Krishna Chaitanya. Since he was busy handling Niithin's movie at that time, I was asked to wield the megaphone.

The film is a thriller elaborating on which will run the risk of giving away spoilers. The story revolves around the protagonist's fascination for a smartphone, an identity card, and a frightening gun. The hero goes on to lock horns with the City Commissioner. Every forty minutes, there is an unexpected twist. The duration of the movie is two hours and seven minutes. The climax is totally unpredictable.

Bollywood actress Bhagyashree played Srinivas's mother in the Hindi remake of 'Chatrapathi'. Since our producer had an idea about her daughter, Avantika, we chose her.

Samuthirakani has played a pivotal role. I thought of casting Gautham Menon for the role. But producer Satish suggested Samuthirakani's name. He was perfect for the role. He previously made 'Shambho Siva Shambho', which was produced by Bellamkonda Suresh.

This thriller adheres to a certain mood. I commercialized it by breaking down certain segments. I hope my treatment is a successful one.

Mahati Swara Sagar's two songs have already been released to a good response. The background music is next level. It will remind you of Hollywood movies like 'John Wick' and the blockbuster Tamil movie, 'Vikram'.
