About
Adbhutham:
Adbhutham, fourth in Jayaraaj's Navarasa series (other films are Karnam, Shantam
and Bheebhatsa) narrates the universally relevant theme of life and death. The
etymological meaning of Malayalam word Adbhutham (basically from Sanskrit) is,
something never happened in past. The film is about the first ever 'euthanasia'
(physician assisted suicide or mercy killing), which is going to happen in
Oregon State of America, the first state legalized euthanasia.
The story
is about a well known Indian-English dramatist and writer settled in Oregon, now
in his deathbed, waiting for the mercy of his doctors. Everything is legally
ready to kill him by mercy. Now he has only one and a half hours left in his
life.
The making
of this film too is a matter of wonder, as in the case of its theme. The
complete film will be shot in less than 10 consecutive hours at Ramoji Film City
on 13th of December.
The cast
list includes National award winner Suresh Gopi, National award winner KPAC
Lalitha and new faces from home and abroad. The technicians are Madampu
Kunjukuttam (scenario), S Kumar (cinematography) and Ashok (Art).
