FLO Hyderabad to collaborate with TSIIC to jointly develop FLO Women's Entrepreneur Park

Hyderabad, August 17th, 2016: FLO Hyderabad and TSIIC today announced to jointly set up FLO & TSIIC Women Entrepreneur's Industrial Park at Sultanpur, Pattancheru spread over 50 acres. The Flagship Project being set up in collaboration with TSIIC is the first for both FLO and its parent body FICCI. In the light of the "Make in India" campaign that has set strong grounds for awareness and encouragement to women, FLO Hyderabad is setting up the world class park at Sultanpur, Medak Dist. The Park will house women owned and women run businesses representing varied Industry Verticals primarily in the green and orange category.

FLO National President; Vinita Bimbhet said, "India can increase its 2025 targeted GDP from 16% to 60% by enabling women to participate in the economy on par with men. FLO believes that Women's Entrepreneurial Parks shall give tremendous boost for women to set up their own ventures. It has been said that the one way to make sure women participate in the economic growth of the country, is by creating a healthy eco-system for women entrepreneurs. The FLO Hyderabad Entrepreneur Park is aimed towards this".

Vinita Bimbhet reiterated, "FLO's commitment to build an entrepreneurial driven economy and resurgent India where women play a major role is continuous. This we believe is possible only when we have Industries owned and led by women in varied Industry Sectors bringing good investments, creating better employment opportunity for women and also alongside build better local communities. For setting up these Women Entrepreneur Parks across India, FLO will collaborate with State Govt at Chapter level to implement the initiative".

Vice-Chairman & MD TSIIC, Mr. E.V. Narasimha Reddy told Media that, "The Govt of Telangana is keen to promote women enterprises in the state. TSIIC has partnered FLO via its parent body, FICCI. Today, Hyderabad and Telangana are the most preferred destinations for any investor and we already have many MNC's and large international brands with their facilities in the state. The Govt of Telangana has its focus on supporting businesses, industry and entrepreneurs at all levels, including women run enterprises".

Speaking to Media on the occasion, FLO Hyderabad Chapter Chairperson, Padma Rajgopal said, "We are delighted to partner TSIIC to establish the industrial park. While it is our maiden venture together, the experience of both FLO and TSIIC in this space will certainly create an industrial park which will attract businesses and investments from across the country to set up their facilities in an enabling environment".

"Today, there is need to give an extra thrust to women owned businesses as they are big contributors to the economic growth of the country. It is our strong belief that, the proposed Industrial Park will fulfill that requirement and help India emerge as a manufacturing destination. We are encouraged by the proactive stance of the State Government and see much potential for the Park to attract good mix of industries, investments of the right pedigree from members of Hyderabad Chapter, FLO national members and international partner organisation members. We do believe that, co-existence of such diverse industries, supporting & encouraging each other is what will make this project extremely successful", added Apama Reddy, FLO National Vice-President who was also present at the briefing.

Jyotsna Angara, Board Member FLO, who leads the initiative at Hyderabad said, "One of the key enablers to catalyze the "Make in India" initiative announced by the Government of India is to bring women to the mainstream, fore-front of business, Industry and Policy making. To this end, FLO has been working relentlessly towards skill development initiatives and promoting entrepreneurship with women at all levels". She also added, "With the support of State Govt., FLO Hyderabad plans to create bench mark developments in the women's industrial park space. With the keen interest of State Govt and Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao in promoting industrial growth with pro-industry & forward thinking policies, we are confident that the FLO Park will give an impetus to companies, especially those from other states, to setup a base in our park."

Green energy norms and green infrastructure for sustainable energy will be a big aspect of the park to create a more sustainable future for all of us. The main aim of FLO, TSIIC and the number of companies that will make up the industrial park eventually is to propagate and encourage sustainable development and growth.

"To encourage sustainable development and growth, we will encourage all companies to collaborate on shared usage of energy, logistics, infrastructure and other similar services. Surplus energy from a specific large unit / plant can be transferred to other neighboring companies in the park in the form of electricity, steam and hot water etc. Or even transferred to the nearby villages. This industrial energy symbiosis system will definitely reduce waste, costs and emissions, and increases resource efficiency".

FLO is working to pioneer the concept of integrated business township linked to the Entrepreneur parks in India and establish such projects across at the various chapters that it is planning to set up Industrial Parks with the respective State Industrial Development Corporations. FLO engages in multifaceted activities to support the growth of women as well as the communities and the nation at large.
