Srikanth, who started his film career as a villain way back in the year, though proved to be a good villain was identified by EVV as a hero. Thus his life as a hero started with ‘Aame’ and he was mostly projected a family type hero with many successes as ‘Pelli Sandadi’, ‘Vinodham’, ‘Gilli Kajjalu’, ‘Aahvanam’, ‘Pandaga’, ‘Egire Pavurama’, ‘Thaali’, ‘O Chinadana’, ‘Pellam Oorelite’ and many more. Suddenly Krishna Vamsi saw an action hero in him and introduced him as one in ‘Khadgam’ which became a turning point for Srikanth prompting a bee line of producers and directors in front of his residence. From then on there was no point of return to this non-controversial hero.
The long journey of Srikanth has now brought him to 100th movie which is not a simple landmark for any actor in the present world who is vanishing just with a couple of movies. Even the top stars like Nagarjuna and Venkatesh have not achieved that feat.
Under such circumstance, as a gesture to Krishna Vamsi for identifying a different ability in him, Srikanth decided to work only with him for his 100th film. Creative director Krishna Vamsi also finds this chance a special one and has put in his efforts to make a memorable gift to Srikanth’s contribution to the film industry.
Much similar to his movie progression in which he started as a villain and became a hero, in this film also Srikanth begins his life as a rowdy sheeter and transforms into a refined person. Aptly titled as ‘Mahatma’ this movie brings in the methods, ways and means of converting a rowdy into a socially acceptable element.
Srikanth plays the character named Das who becomes a rowdy due to his surroundings and unleashes the arrogance and terror in the area. During the course of time he comes across a noble character that plans Gandhi’s values in Srikanth’s mind.
Heroine Bhavana also plays equally an important role as female lead in the movie. Her first time association with him is expected to give desired performance.
With dreams of Krishna Vamsi and commitment of Srikanth blended together in the backdrop of Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophies, this movie no doubt can stay forever or is expected to remain in the minds of audience forever.
