Sujana Rao-directed 'Gamanam', to be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi, stars Shriya Saran as a mute woman. The news is that Nithya Menen is playing a singer in the film and her first look from the realistic drama was on Friday unveiled by Sharwanand.
"Nithya will be seen in a special appearance in the film as singer Shailaputri Devi," the makers revealed. Elaborating further, they added, "There is divinity all through and the 'Janatha Garage' actress has played an orthodox role."
Shriya, on her part, will be seen in a de-glamorous role in the drama. 'RRR' writer Sai Madhav Burra is penning dialogues.
The legendary Ilayaraja and Gnana Shekar V.S. are taking care of music and cinematography departments. Produced by Ramesh Karutoori and Venki Pushadapu, the film's post-production works are on.
