'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' and 'Radhe Shyam' are slated to be released in theatres on January 7 and 14, respectively. Two of the biggest pan-India movies are coming out amid a looming Omicron shadow.

Covid-19 cases are on the rise in Delhi. In Mumbai, too, warning bells have been heard. "At 321, Mumbai’s daily Covid case count hits 39-day high," reported ToI early this week. Already, a Minister has said that schools will be shut down in Maharashtra if cases continue to rise.

In Karnataka as well as Delhi, serious curbs on social gatherings during Christmas and New Year's Eve have been announced.

So far, there are no curbs on cinema halls. But the Centre has asked the States to impose night curfews and curbs on gatherings if the need be. If night curfews are imposed, the cinema business will be affected negatively.

The coming one week is crucial. The producers/distributors of 'RRR' and 'Radhe Shyam' must be watching the developments closely.
