It has been Srikanth Addala's dream to make a trilogy titled 'Annai' (No, 'Peddha Kapu' is not that trilogy). 'Annai' is a three-part movie that the director has been wanting to make for the past 5-6 years.
In 2021, Addala said that Geetha Arts would be producing the trilogy. After that, the 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' director got the opportunity to introduce Virat Karrna, the brother-in-law of 'Akhanda' producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy. That's why he made 'Peddha Kapu'. This is a duology.
Unfortunately for Addala, 'Peddha Kapu' is on its way to becoming a huge flop. As per trade reports, the recovery on Day 1 (September 29) was a mere 5% or even less. If this is true, Addala can as well forget 'Peddha Kapu 2' in the short term.
If 'Peddha Kapu 2' is in doubt, what can we say about 'Annai', 'Annai 2' and 'Annai 3'? Recently, producer Ravinder Reddy said that he once listened to the story of 'Annai' and was bowled over by its interval bang. One hopes Addala gets to live his dream.
