'Bimbisara', the fantasy action film, was released in 2022. It became an unexpected blockbuster of sorts. Its prequel was announced today by NTR Arts. Nandamuri Kalyanram will be headlining it and also producing it.
'Bimbisara' was directed by Mallidi Vassishta. However, the prequel won't be directed by him. Anil Paduri, who is known for Akash Puri's 'Romantic' (it was not just a flop but also downright frustrating to watch), is the one who will be directing it.
Obviously, the replacement makes the prequel look less-than-exciting. Movie buffs are unhappy that Vassishta is not in the director's chair this time around.
A prequel or a sequel was supposed to happen immediately after the release of 'Bimbisara'. However, the director took up Chiranjeevi's 'Vishwambhara' instead.
It is rumoured that Vassishta opted out of the project after developing "creative differences" with Kalyanram. The truth is not known to any. Everything is in the realm of speculation.
