Telugu exhibitors, producers in favour of banning public reviews

Plans are afoot to ban public reviews after FDFS shows. YouTube channels swarm around single screens and multiplexes that show new movie releases. Big-ticket duds are hit the most when the FDFS audience provide negative reviews. Since the general public are unfiltered in their language, their reviews carry an air of authenticity. YouTubers make it all the worse for producers by going for sensational thumbnails.

Speaking at an event, Dil Raju said that exhibitors are in favour of imposing a ban on public reviews on the premises of their properties. YouTubers will be debarred from entering their premises very soon.

"This decision must come from the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce," Dil Raju stated.

The decision will most likely come into force starting with either 'Pushpa 2' or the Sankranthi 2025 releases. Public reviews are going to be banned in Tamil Nadu as well.
