Here is what critics have said about Sai Pallavi, Junaid Khan's Ek Din

Ek Din stars Sai Pallavi and Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan in lead roles. Critics have had a fairly polarized reaction to Ek Din (the Hindi remake of the Thai film One Day), which released on Friday.

While the film is being praised as a gentle, "marshmallow-like" break from the recent wave of aggressive action movies, the feedback on the lead performances and the screenplay is quite divided.

As per most reviews, Sai Pallavi is the unanimous highlight. Critics have called her performance "magnetic," "incandescent," and "effortlessly natural." Reviews for Junaid are more critical. Some describe him as "refreshingly honest" and a good fit for the "socially inept, invisible" geek role. However, others found him "green" and "stiff".

The Hindu is perhaps the only major publication that wasn't too harsh. As per the news daily, the film is a tender, believable romance. As per Cinema Express, Ek Din is "soothing but sloppy". Hindustan Times opined that it's a "one-time watch" that misses the emotional impact of the original. Rediff stated that the movie is set in the backdrop of beautiful locales but lacks chemistry between the leads. Mashable India criticized the "dragged-out script" and lack of acting depth.

Ek Din is produced by Mansoor Khan, Aamir Khan, and Aparna Purohit under Aamir Khan Productions. Sunil Pandey is its director.
