Actress Mahima Nambiar, who was recently seen in the Tamil-language blockbuster Mandaadi, will be seen as the female lead in this week's theatrical release, Sree Vishnu's Comrade Kalyan. While the film lacks any buzz, for Mahima, it's the only opportunity to strike gold in Telugu.
"The director watched the Tamil and Malayalam films I had done and called me to narrate the story. I really liked it. It will be a fun entertainer in Sree Vishnu’s signature style. Earlier, I was supposed to work with Sree Vishnu in Samajavaragamana. We even had a photoshoot for the film, but due to certain reasons, it didn’t work out. I feel lucky to be making my Telugu debut with this film," Mahima says.
On the face of it, her character seems to be run-of-the-mill. "My character in this film is very fun. Her name is Sitara Devi. She is a girl-next-door kind of character and is very innocent. I play a girl who has come from Odisha. Because of the language, the fun that unfolds between the hero and heroine is quite amusing. Shooting in Odisha was also a new experience for me," Mahima says.
Mahima Nambiar debuted in movies 16 years ago. Madhura Raja (2019), RDX: Robert Dony Xavier (2023), Jai Ganesh (2024), Little Hearts (2024) and Bromance (2025) are among her noted movies in other languages.
