At a film event on Tuesday, Jr NTR recalled his entry into the film industry, saying that his father (Late Hari Krishna) asked him to be on his own in the film industry. "I attended the launch event of my first movie all alone. Nobody accompanied him. I felt lonely," the RRR star shared. This implied that he didn't have the support of his family.
Trolls started accusing Tarak of underplaying the role of his father in helping him bag an important movie project. As per them, the Rajamouli-directed Student No. 1 went Tarak's way only because Hari Krishna had intervened. The project was first meant for Prabhas, something producer C Aswini Dutt and his daughter Swapna Dutt, too, have spoken of in the past.

Suriya declined the offer because he felt the project didn't align with the specific genre or type of films he was focusing on at the time, opting instead to commit to Ayan (Veedokkade in Telugu). Following his refusal, the story was developed for Ram Charan mainly because he knew horse-riding.
