Producer Razesh Danda of 'Samajavaragamana' fame says that 'Ooru Peru Bhairavakona' is unconventional. As someone who is inclined to like movies with unique plot points, he adds that OPBK's output is the best in terms of story-telling and VFX.
The Sundeep Kishan-starrer will hit the cinemas on February 16 with paid premiers in multiple locations across the Telugu States on February 14. "My idea is to hold as many as 100 premiere shows on 14th and 15th," he says.
'Ooru Peru Bhairavakona' was supposed to be my debut as a producer under Hasya Movies. I, Sundeep Kishan and director Vi Anand have been good friends for many years. My debut turned out to be 'Samajavaragamana'.
'OPBK' is a fantasy thriller wherein curious incidents take place in a village named Bhairavakona. The link between the film's plot and the missing pages from Garuda Puranam is revealed in the pre-climax phase.
As a distributor, I had a successful journey for 12 years. When I set out to become a producer, I wanted to make a debut with an unconventional film. A supernatural fantasy like 'OPBK' seemed right. Visually and script-wise, Anand has surpassed his previous films like 'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada'.
The budget looked right at the beginning. At the end, the budget is Rs 25 Cr. This is the costliest film in Sundeep's career. Five premiere shows have been announced in Hyderabad alone for February 14. All shows are packed! This response is huge.
CG is up to 47 minutes of the running time. And the quality is superlative. The sets have been enhanced using VFX. The sets of 'Acharya' were reworked to suit our script.
Composer Shekar Chandra, art director Ramanjaneyulu and the rest of the key technicians were chosen on the basis of the story. Moreover, our director shares a good working relationship with Chandra. The song 'Nijame Ne Chebutunna' has surpassed all expectations by clocking 100 million views.
Right from the start, the film introduces the world of Bhairavakona. The interval twist will keep the audience guessing. The second half will further the world of Bhairavakona even more. Sundeep worked so hard on the movie. This is going to be the best in his career. The success range is decided by the audience. We have done our best.
Our movie is done with the Censor certification. U/A is the rating. The Censor formalities were completed even before the BookMyShow bookings began. There is no controversy regarding this (producer Natti Kumar recently complained that the BMS bookings were opened before the mandatory censor formalities).
As a producer, I have some hard and fast rules. If the first half narration is not satisfactory, I ask the director to stop it and not waste his time.
My next is with Allari Naresh. It is directed by Subbu Mangadevi of 'Solo Brathuke So Better'. The film will hit the cinemas in July probably.
