Mega Star Chiranjeevi graced the pre-release event of 'Uppena' held in Hyderabad. Starring debutant Panja Vaishnav Tej, Krithi Shetty, Vijay Sethupathi among others, 'Uppena' will release on 12th April. Buchi Babu Sana makes his debut as director with this movie, produced by Sukumar and Mythri Movie Makers. Vijay Sethupathi, directors Koratala Siva, Harish Shankar, Venky Kudumula, lyricist Chandrabose were among others who attended the event.
Chiranjeevi wished the team and said that his family has found another good actor in Vaishnav Tej. He remembered how he suggested Vaishnav Tej for a role in Shankar Dada M.B.B.S. Chiru said, "After watching 'Uppena', I wanted to share my happiness with all in a press meet. It's an extraordinary film. The screenplay is very interesting. Buchi Babu Sana has done a great job. Vijay Sethupathi, who has fans across the country, has done a very good role in this movie. Hatsoff to him for encouraging newcomers by playing roles like this apart from doing lead roles. I am happy to see that a good hero like Vaishnav Tej is getting introduced with this movie. His eyes are very expressive and that was seen in Shankar Dada MBBS. Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar are very good producers who are very friendly with all. They are also producing my movie with Bobby. Krithi Shetty has a good future. I wish the team the very best".
Vaishnav Tej said, "I'm indebted to my parents. They worked very hard for us. We wouldn't have been here without the support of our three uncles. I thank director Buchi Babu Sana for this role. Besides teaching me everything, Sukumar garu has supported me well throughout the film. Krithi Shetty learnt Telugu and worked for this movie. She also taught a few expressions to me. I am very happy to have worked with Vijay Sethupathi sir. Most of the film was shot at Buchi Babu's hometown, Uppada. The film has come out very well with the support of all".

I first met Chiranjeevi garu on the sets of 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' and my respect for him has only grown multifold since then. When Buchi Babu Sana approached me for 'Uppena', I asked him to narrate the story in Telugu. I got to know he is an assistant to Sukumar. I like Sukumar sir a lot. Please give me an opportunity in your movie sir".
