Re-releases fever: A new threat for small movies!

'Jalsa', which was re-released on September 1 this month, grossed Rs 3.2 Cr. Pawan Kalyan's fans watched the movie, which was trolled when it was released in 2009, with great enthusiasm. But the re-release was bad news for 'Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga', which hit the cinemas on the next day. 'RRV', starring Vaisshnav Tej and Ketika Sharma, must have definitely been affected by 'Jalsa' to an extent.

The re-release fever is now becoming a huge fashion. 'Pokiri' minted good monies in August. Today, Dhanush's '3' is reportedly posting very good numbers. This is the biggest surprise of all. '3', the 2012 movie, is actually a flop movie with 'Kolaveri Di' as the only redeeming feature.

MS Raju recently announced that 'Okkadu' will be re-released on January 8, 2023. You can see the planning that is going into re-releases. Ahead of Sankranthi releases, a couple of small producers try to squeeze in their movies. But with 'Okkadu' poised to dominate the charts next year, their hopes are now dashed.

The talk is that Nandamuri Balakrishna's classic 'Samarasimha Reddy' and Prabhas' 'Varsham', among others, are also being planned for a re-release. Those two films had superb stories and great songs. It will be a 'racha racha' time. No small film will now dare to coincide with those releases.
