'Cult Mama' from 'Skanda': Neither mad nor cult

The song 'Cult Mama' from 'Skanda' was released today after so much hype. Ram Pothineni and the makers of the film had breathlessly promoted the song as a mad cult dance number.

Shot on Ram and Urvashi Rautela, the Thaman composition has been panned by Netizens. While the title is bombastic, the picturization, music, and the dominant mood are insipid. The only saviour is the 'iSmart Shankar' actor, whose dance moves are energetic. Barring Prem Rakshit's dance choreography, none of those who worked on the song behind the screens cared to deliver a unique experience.

Urvashi, who has previously danced alongside Chiranjeevi in 'Waltair Veerayya' and Pawan Kalyan in 'Bro', doesn't dance effortlessly here. Even Ram's get-up is off-putting.

Director Boyapati Srinu's conception and staging are meh. 'Cult Mama' has the scent of a dubbed song.

Presented by Zee Studios South and Pavan Kumar, the film is produced by Srinivasaa Silver Screen. Sree Leela is its heroine. Producer Srinivasaa Chitturi is going to release the movie on September 28.
