Leaders from the All India Students' Federation (AISF) have lodged an official complaint with the Cyber Crime Police in Suryaraopeta, seeking criminal charges against television anchor Vishnu Priya Bheemineni. She has previously participated in Bigg Boss Telugu.

The complainants allege that the celebrity has been posting "semi-nude" videos on her Instagram account. According to the AISF representatives, the content is being shared out of a "greed for money" and violates public decency standards.

Recently, Vishnupriya started posting exclusive content for her subscribers. At the time of writing, she had more than 3,000 followers. It's estimated that her subscription-based income per month is anywhere from Rs 10-15 lakh. She also earns income from TV appearances.

Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 punishes anyone who publishes or transmits obscene material in electronic form (including photos/videos on Instagram). Not every revealing photo is automatically “obscene.” Courts have held that mere nudity or semi-nudity alone is not enough; the context, intent, and overall effect matter. However, when content is commercialised (paid subscriptions) and seen as deliberately provocative or borderline soft porn, complaints frequently lead to FIRs.
